Many times I have been asked about what to do when children are showing abilities and psychic gifts.
The first and most important thing is for them to realize that it is a blessing and not a curse. Like any gift a person has, such as writing, dancing, or playing music, it's important to get an understanding of the gift and grow into it over time. Take things slowly. (Resist bombarding them with books, movies and TV shows about the psychic world. And please don't push them into psychic fairs to do readings. While these might come from a loving heart for them, these can create an overwhelming pressure of expectation on them, which can lead to deeper problems.) An important thing for a child showing abilities is to have a journal and pencil, so that they can write down impressions and experiences. This will help them to learn how their own unique gifts work, as well as discover the unique way they experience the world. Boundaries are also important. Just as having boundaries in the physical world are helpful, it is also important in the psychic/spiritual world as well. Letting them know that when they say no, to mean no; this is vital. They do have a degree of control, and it's important for them to learn how to use that control, rather than succumb to the notion they are victims. Children with abilities can sometimes have difficulty sleeping at night, so soft background music can help to soothe and distract their conscious mind so they can sleep more easily. Most importantly, they should know that they are not alone, and that it is good to embrace the gifts they have. Letting them know that they can be who they are, and that you will be there to love and support them is the most beautiful and loving thing you can do. ![]() Lately, I've been getting a lot of questions about the Enneagram, what it means, and how to use it properly. It seems to be enjoying a resurgence. And there's a problem. Here's the problem: there's way to much bad information out there about the Enneagram, which is only contributing to confusion in the way it's understood. As a monk, we studied this tool ENDLESSLY under recognized experts who went well beyond the past 30 years, down to the more ancient roots of this tool. And I can tell you with certainty, just about everyone I've seen lately doesn't seem to understand the nuances, details and intricacies of the Enneagram. And I can't stand seeing this happen. The Enneagram is NOT a personality profile after taking a test. That is not how it works. While there are such tests out there, I know of only one other person in the country who sees how to evaluate someone's Enneagram triad. Yes, triad. The most dangerous use of the Enneagram is to reduce your personality to a single number. And that's what I see all the time, especially on social media. The Enneagram often gets lumped in as a personality tool with a single number, or a single number with a "wing" for your personality. This is not correct. The Enneagram is like a chemistry set, with dynamic and changing levels of the nine elements, combining to form a unique profile. There are three predominant influences, but ALL NINE are in play, which is how everything gets far more complicated. Will I teach a class on this? Maybe, but not yet. There are so many moving parts to the Enneagram, and it takes years to really understand it. Boiling it down takes time, and then releasing it on a public level invites more people to reduce it to an overly simplistic and inaccurate level. So be careful about the Enneagram information out there. It's not a quiz and a number. It's really an ever-changing dynamic of personality influences that can be very beneficial to personal and spiritual development. When used properly by someone who has spent decades with it. ![]() A very good friend of mine always refers to me as "The Psychic Monk." It's a term that nearly always raises eyebrows, and is certainly memorable. Why Psychic Monk? Well, first of all, I'm known as the Metro Monk, but it's the psychic part that really sticks with people. I was a monk for several years after college, and that aspect of my life was the most formative for me. During that time, I got my Masters in Theology, I did intensive work with prayer and meditation, and expanded my abilities in ways that I ha no idea of at the time. Of course, now I'm not a monk. Married with six children certainly is a change in lifestyle! So now you know. Of course there's more. Which is why I'm starting to work on a book that brings out a lot of the quantum moments and events during my life. I just started writing the book, so it's going to be a few months before it surfaces, especially with my very busy schedule of events and readings. Do I miss the monastery? Not really. But I still have aspects of the prayer and spirituality of those monastic days: they will always be with me, no matter how hard I may try to let them go. That's why I used to teach meditation, discernment, and other aspects of spiritual practice. And it feels like I'll be teaching these again soon! ![]() Psychic predictions are one of the most misunderstood aspects of psychic work. The thing about psychic predictions is that they are not predictions at all, but forecasts. Much like a weather forecast, a psychic looks at the likelihood of events taking place if the current path is being followed by the person. In other words, if you continue the way you're going, this is what will likely happen. However, things can change. Everyone has free will. This means that people can consciously change the direction their life is taking. It also means that other people in their life can make decisions that affect the outcome of events. It's a very tangled twist of directions and human freedom. My best advice is always this: "The best way to predict the future is to make it happen." ![]() During the pandemic, some ask whether phone or Zoom readings work as effectively as in-person readings. Great question! The fact is that readings are all about energy and spirit, which means they are not bound by the laws, expectations and limitations of the physical plane. When I am giving a reading, I am touching in with the energy and spirit that transcends time and space, on level that we are only now beginning to understand more fully. The proof is in the reading itself! Validations are strong, questions are answered with clarity, and spiritual healing occurs, all just as well by distance as in-person. Of course, I will always prefer in-person to distance, but the results and effectiveness are quite similar. Interested in booking a reading? Visit the Readings page to find out more! ![]() I get questions often about how to increase your psychic abilities and intuition, as well as learning more about mediumship. Rest assured, I have been working on the whole project for quite some time! There is a new method of approach that I am going to be using in teaching these skills. While psychic ability, intuition and mediumship are gifts you are born with, there are also skills that will direct those gifts in directions that are more geared for help and healing. This is why these classes are important. This is where the School of Spiritual Arts comes in. Initially, I had looked at making this a class that one could take just anytime, but the logistics and resources required to make this possible are just not there. My guides have made it clear that this is not the direction that I should be sharing this knowledge. Over the coming weeks, I will be offering these classes on a regular basis, with each one independent of the others, so that there's no need to have taken one class before moving on to the next. In addition to this, I will be offering classes in Numerology, Tarot, and Handwriting Analysis for those who want to learn some of the tools that are so useful in jump-starting your intuition. I look forward to sharing these with you after Easter! Stay tuned! |
